The Blog of the Week for the week of February 27th to March 5th, 2011 is 'GregPike.ca'. It's may be fairly evident from the title what this blog's main focus is but, don't let the personal title fool you. This space is jam packed with all things other than what Greg is up as this is far from a personal journal. Though more of a mixed bag of a blog, Greg's site has a clear focus on entertainment; everything from local celebrities to funny commercials to comic reviews to anything in between. There is an abundance of videos and pictures to keep anyone happy as they peruse Gregs site... so there's not much point sickin' around this boring place any longer with that said. Blog of the Week : 02/20 - 02/26 2011

The Blog of the Week for the week of February 20th to the 26th, 2011 is 'Random thoughts...'. This is a personal space from blogger Lisa who is a self professed "community volunteer, book lover, foodie and salt beef junkie".  Before blogging became political, before each space developed any clear topic for that matter, we had Web Logs; online journals where people expressed their daily lives and happenings freely to the world. Lisa's space is much like that with her posts being filled with personal experiences, which don't necessary have any political or social commentary attached. Most of the posts are just about her, the things she likes and what's she's been up to. In selecting this blog this week, I'm paying homage to not only a great site but, perhaps to the blogging of old as well. And don't worry, those who crave the political commentary will find snippets of such throughout as well. It truly is a grab bag of information written by another dedicated Newfoundland and Labrador blogger and is well worth the visit. So go. Like now. Click the pic!

Blog of the Week : 02/13 - 02/19 2011

The Blog of the Week for the week of February 13th to the 19th, 2011 is 'Digital Pics'; a photo blog from the mind (or better yet, eye) of Eric Bartlett who resides in St. John's. The first thing that jumps out at me with this space (well the 2nd thing; it's impossible to not notice the pictures first) is the frequency of posts found here. It's a near daily occurrence, with each post displaying his talent to beautifully capture whatever subject he focuses on. From browsing, you quickly realize that these subjects can be just about anything but, there is a main focus on landscapes and scenery of our beautiful province. It's been a while since we've featured a photo blog here and with so many of these type listed it's about time we did again so, enough with the words. It's time to focus on some pictures. Blog of the Week : 02/06 - 02/12 2011

The Blog of the Week for the week of February 6th to the 12th, 2011 is 'Planting Dandelions'; a web space from the mind of Kyran Pittman, who is an author (and a proud Contributing Editor of Good Housekeeping magazine) from this province but, now living in the US. The blog is quite aesthetically pleasing with it's lovely design and is filled with with personal posts on being a writer, a mother, a wife and everything in between or beyond. The posts are very well written (not surprisingly considering her profession) making this site one well worth the visit... which you should do right now. Newbies and News

Before getting into the listing of new inclusions to the blogroll, I wanted to take a moment to provide an couple updates:

Happy 5th Anniversary:
On January 31st, 2006 I posted the very first entry here and I thought it would be fun to note that this blog and the BlogRoll itself is now 5 years strong. Over the the last half decade we've been through a multitude of ups and downs and redevelopments; a true roller coaster ride for me in fact. When I started this thing way back then, I had no idea the heights it would reach, nor the community that would eventually be built. Through the years I have constantly been reminded of how incredibly wonderful this collection of minds truly is. I'm very proud of this place and the blogs which are featured within and I want to take this time to thank you all for your hard work and dedication to your own spaces within the blogosphere. Without your beautiful minds, this place would have no reason to exist.

Bloggers Choice Award
It's been a while since I last discussed the initative and I want to ensure everyone that it's still being developed. I'm currently in the process of weeding through all the blogs to decide on those which we'll be voting on. As you can imagine, with there now being 199 blogs on the roll, this continues to be a lengthy process. Having said that, my intention was to launch the initiave during the spring or summer months anyway, so things are still on target.
